PIC Code

Primary Inter-exchange Carrier or PIC is a code your local phone company uses in routing your calls to the long-distance carrier of your choice.

After you have verified your request to switch, some long distance carriers will give you this code to give to your local phone company. Most long distance carriers though will submit their PIC code for you. It is normally best to let this happen to avoid any delays to start your new service.
