Predictive Dialling

A Predictive Dialer is a system that uses sophisticated mathematical equations and algorithms to determine the pace at which to dial out, based on projections as to when a person or machine will answer. The predictive dialer self-adjusts to match answer rates with running conversation completion rates, to minimize waiting periods for agents or telemarketers.

Based on a variety of factors, a predictive dialer dynamically calculates the pacing to best keep all operators talking. One advantage of the predictive dialer is that operator efficiency will dramatically increase and improve talk times.

Predictive dialing is when you will receive a call and when you pick it up you will get silence or the "click" of the calling party disconnecting the call. It is when a telemarketer’s automatic dialer simultaneously dials more numbers than the telemarketer could handle. If all of the called parties pick up at the same time, the first person that picks up is connected to the telemarketer while the rest are disconnected.

FCC rules require that companies identify themselves and also that telemarketers maintain "do-not-call" lists for people who do not wish to receive telemarketing calls from a certain company. The practice of predictive dialing, and the resulting abandoned calls, often do not allow consumers to identify the company calling and, therefore, do not afford consumers the opportunity to make a "do-not-call" request under FCC rules.
